Do you struggle with rhythm?

Do you want to feel one with rhythm?

Do you want to explore complex polyrhythm?

I have a deep appreciation for the rhythmic journey and incorporate the principles of Taketina into my teaching approach. Through this unique method, you’ll explore rhythm not just as an external concept but as a living, embodied experience. Whether you struggle with rhythm and coordination or are a professional musician wanting to deepen your rhythmic capacity I will guide you through a series of rhythmic exercises, vocalizations, and body movements, allowing you to tap into your innate sense of rhythm and connect with music on a profound level. With personalised one on one lessons, you’ll develop a heightened sense of timing, coordination, and improvisation skills, enabling you to express yourself freely and intuitively.
I understand that rhythm goes beyond music—it has the power to enhance coordination and promote overall well-being. Through Taketina inspired lessons, you’ll not only deepen your understanding of rhythm but also improve your physical coordination and mental focus. The rhythmic exercises and movements involved engage both your mind and body, helping to cultivate a greater sense of balance, agility, and spatial awareness. Beyond the physical benefits, the practice of rhythm can have a profound impact on your well-being. It promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and encourages a state of mindfulness as you immerse yourself in the rhythmic flow.

“I have been learning music from Justin for the last few months. I find him to be a very patient, knowledgeable and a kind teacher who spends the required time and goes the extra mile to make sure I understand and have learnt what is needed.

He is able to accurately identify the weak points by listening and has consistently been able to provide the required tools and strategies to help me fill the gaps in my knowledge and skills. And most importantly, Justin makes learning music fun.”

“I come away from a lesson with Justin feeling inspired to keep practising. His easeful and open way of teaching means I can ask questions to really understand what I need to do.

He has so much musical knowledge and at the same time he can break things down so a beginner can understand.

I’ve discovered more confidence and enthusiasm to challenge myself to extend my skills and it’s because Justin knows just where to pitch (no pun intended) his lessons to help me improve..”
